The Key Worker Scheme
Each child at Grayswood Nursery is assigned a member of staff as a "key worker". The key worker helps the child to settle in and is responsible for ensuring that the child's needs are recognised and met.
For each child in her care, the key worker compiles a record of observations made of their achievements and progress. These records are shared with parents, who are encouraged to make their own contributions to them. They remain the property of the nursery school until a child leaves, when the completed file is passed on to the parents.
