Home time
At all times children are cherished and guided whilst
allowing them to develop independence and confidence.
Children are encouraged to use the indoor and outdoor space
in most weathers. Consequently they must come to nursery in
appropriate clothes for the time of year and weather.
During the
academic year 2010/11 Grayswood Nursery School are piloting
a new system with extended Mondays for pre-school children.
During the Spring and Summer term children bring a packed
lunch and stay until 2.45.
The
nursery is registered with Ofsted and Surrey County Council
and consequently operates within the guidelines of the
Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
This framework is used for children from birth to the end
of their reception year at school.
There are 6 areas of learning within the EYFS: Personal,
Social and Emotional Development (PSED), Communication,
Language and Literacy (CLL), Knowledge and Understanding of
the World (KUW), Problem Solving, Reasoning and Numeracy
(PSRN), Physical Development (PD) and Creative Development
(CD).
Snack Time
Children are taken, in small groups of no more than 8, to
wash their hands. They then sit together, with an adult, at
a table to share their snack. There is an option of milk or
water to drink and a variety of things to eat (cucumber,
cheese, apple, orange, raisins, breadsticks etc).
The
nursery is familiar with a range of dietary requirements
and is able to cater accordingly.
